Four Tanka - Hortensia Anderson

[Other haiku & tanka] [Other titles in English] [All other titles]

the crescent moon
so tranquil in the heavens
holds both of us
as we look at the stars
in each other's eyes

after losing you
in the smoothness of marble
I find you again
in stillness and silence
always Aphrodite

the white stars fade
to amethyst crystals
with the black sky
in this swirl of purple
I can't get enough of you

stroking your face
lightly with my fingertips
the sky darkens
a cloud drifts across the moon
and our shadows fade away
