Knikkend trekt het span
de ploeg door zware kleigrond
pluimen ademrook 		Stil draait de aarde
bewegingloos het landschap
onzichtbaar de wind

 

 
Mestgeur op het land
holle echo klinkt, als klep
van gierput dichtvalt 		Vlokken vallen traag
stilte, aarde toegedekt
zachtjes knerpt mijn schoen

.

 

Frans Kwaad (1936) lives in The Netherlands. He is a retired lecturer in Physical Geography at the University of Amsterdam.
